Talk straight to your customers

Social media lets you speak directly to the people you want to reach, without waiting for them to come looking for you or the services you provide. Done properly, it's one of the most direct ways a small business can get in front of new customers and stay in front of the ones it already has.

Social media marketing means sharing content on the platforms your audience actually uses: updates about your products, the deals and specials you have running, and a clear picture of what your business does. The aim is to get your audience engaging with you, not just scrolling past.

We can take it off your hands completely so you can focus on doing what you love. Or, if you already manage your own feed and just need help with planning and direction, we can do that instead and leave the day-to-day posting with you.

Our social media strategy

  • Define your goals

Before anything else, we work out what you want social media to do for you: build brand awareness, drive traffic to your website or create leads. The strategy follows from that.

  • Identify your audience

We get clear on who you're talking to, including their age, gender, location and interests, so the content is written for them.

  • Choose the right channels

Not every platform suits every business. We pick the ones most likely to reach your audience, rather than spreading you thin across all of them.

  • Build the content strategy

We set up a content calendar, work out which types of content suit your brand, and write guidelines for tone and style so your posts stay consistent.

Picking the right platforms

Each platform works differently and suits different businesses. Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram are strong options for most, but depending on who you're trying to reach, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat or Pinterest might earn a place too. Here's how we think about the main ones.

  • Facebook: usually the first platform to plan for. You can build a local following by engaging with community groups and getting customers to share your posts, and paid ads can target a specific local audience when you want to grow faster.
  • Instagram: ideal for businesses with a very visual product or service. It's community focused, and Instagram Shopping can send traffic straight to your online store.
  • TikTok: short-form video, trends, sounds and hashtags. The For You Page puts your videos in front of people likely to be interested in what you sell.
  • YouTube: regular, good-quality videos, with keywords in your titles and descriptions so they show up in search, shared across your other channels.
  • Snapchat: best suited to Gen Z and younger millennials. Behind-the-scenes stories work well, and Snapchat Insights shows who you're reaching.
  • Pinterest: fresh pins that link to your products or services and boards aimed at your ideal customers, both designed to drive traffic to your website. Most people use it on their phones, so content needs to work on mobile.

Organic posts and paid ads

You don't have to spend big to build a following. Consistent, useful posts and genuine engagement with your community can grow an audience on their own, and that's where most small businesses should start. When you want to grow faster or reach a very specific local audience, paid social media advertising can sit on top of your organic work, and we can run that too.

Common questions

What is social media management?

It's the planning, creating and sharing of content on social media platforms to promote your business. That includes updates about your products, deals and specials, and showing people what your business does.

Which platforms should my business be on?

The ones your audience uses. We choose channels based on who you're trying to reach, so a very visual business might lean on Instagram and Pinterest, while a business chasing a younger audience might look at TikTok or Snapchat.

I already post on my own social media. Can you still help?

Yes. If you'd rather keep running your own feed, we can help with the planning and direction instead of taking it over.

Do you run paid social media ads as well?

Yes. Paid ads are a good way to grow faster and target a specific local audience, and we manage social media advertising alongside organic posting.
